Advertising On Facebook:

Would you like to have your site seen by thousands of people every day on one of the most popular sites on the Internet? For a $50.00 design fee (for each ad placed) and as little as $1.00/day - your business and/or product can be promoted to exactly the customer you are looking for! Facebook offers many advantages to who sees you!

  • You can pinpoint a potential viewer's location down to their region, state or exact city and zip code.
  • You can request a specific gender, marital status, age, and other details to narrow prospective clients and viewers of your business, product or service.
  • You can have more than one ad running at the same time!
  • We can evaluate your results after one or two month intervals to determine the success of the marketing campaign and change to suit your needs.

We also have a service available to set your business it's own Facebook Group. Get fans and watch interest in your group or company grow.

AdWords:

Google's advertising is called "AdWords". AdWords is a flexible way to advertise online. You can limit exposure by time and geography. (Be warned that, especially in rural areas, cities are generalized. For example, Emporia is often considered part of Wichita, despite being almost 100 miles apart.) Google uses a "bidding" process for ads. You can set the amount that you want Google to bid for each ad, and it will automatically weigh that, and other criteria, to decide if your ad is shown. You can limit spending by the month, as well. This provide a lot of control and options for you.

This also means that there is no clear cost. One month's advertising could vary greatly from another's. You could choose to spend $15 a month on advertising or $10,000. You could set the $100 you choose to spend, so that it last a month, or a week, or a year. Don't let this overwhelm you. AdSense is a perennially strong performer, and the ads are on all sorts of websites all over the Internet. You are limited to short text ads. For more information, visit Google Guide's Ad Page

Other search Engines offer different programs at different rates. Proselyte-Graphics will work with you to set up accounts with other search engines, should you choose to do so, but we only directly support AdSense.

Other Sites:

Many large sites offer their own advertising partnerships, with their own rules, options and prices. We can't directly support any of these options, but we will work with you to make sure your site works with their advertising system. Having a graphic ad on a large site that relates to your operation can be incredibly powerful at pushing people to your site. Even more, these people are already interested in the topic that relates to your service or product. For instance, a store that sells used games would do well on a site that reviews old games. On the other hand, it wouldn't be a wise investment to advertise your radio station on a website devoted to classic literature, unless your radio station related to classic literature.

Making Money Back: AdSense:

Not to be confused with AdWords above, AdSense is a way to put advertising on your site, for other sites, for which Google pays you. This would be a good way to recoup small amounts of money for hosting and the like. It shouldn't be considered as a way to get rich off your website, though people have done it. Simply be aware of the facts:

  • Ads rarely look good on a page - If your site's visual appeal is important, minimize or eliminate ads. Fortunately, AdSense displays primarily text ads, which seem to bother people the least.
  • Ads won't make you rich - Unless your site gets thousands of visitors a day, you likely won't get rich from ads you host on your site. Ads are based on clicks, so, even if you have lots of traffic, if no one is interested in your ads, you won't make money.
  • Clicking on your own ads is forbidden - Whatever scheme you think could make you rich by just clicking on your own ads will likely be found out. Google's primary source of income is advertising, and they have a lot of really smart people working to make sure they keep making money.
  • Income is taxed - if you're in the US or other countries that support income tax, be aware that if you make significant money off of advertising, it will require tax information, and it will be submitted for taxation.
  • Ad blocking is becoming more robust - Thanks to open browser standards, browsers like Firefox, using extensions like AdBlock and NoScript can easily block ads, meaning you won't receive any potential advertising income from people using these setups.

If that doesn't scare you off, adding AdSense ads to your website can be a great way to add extra income to a growing site.
